Last Friday, SFSU Koinonia went over to CSUEB after Bible study to have a combined Gym Nite. It was a long drive, probably around 40 minutes? It probably doesn’t really “make sense” to drive all that way just to play some sports since we have a gym of our own or some other local gyms to rent out. But we go all the way over not because they have this really beautiful bright gym but for the incredibly fun time of fellowship!! We’ve gotten to know our friends at CSUEB through these gym nights and now whenever I see someone I can say “Hey! How’s it going?” instead of just giving someone a polite smile. I also have some good friends there that I’m always happy to see again and again.
For some of you.. you might be wondering, “Gym Nite? You mean… you…pump iron??” No, no, no. We have all sorts of fun games together like handball, dodgeball, braveheart (basically avoiding getting hit by huge balls that are like 3′ wide) and other sports like basketball, volleyball and sometimes even badminton. It’s so fun because there’s a little bit of spirited competition but nothing that makes you want to destroy the other team or get upset at a friend for dropping the ball. There’s nothing but smiles and laughter on and off the courts. Well, until we meet again, here are just a few pictures from that night and I hope you can join us next time!
